Ridgeons site development and effects on common

There was an article in the Cambridge News about the Ridgeons site development :

A major concern is that the guidance appears to presume that the cycleway goes down Brampton Road, which means that the council may well try and take a chunk of the common along Coldham’s Lane ( and probably to widen the Coldham’s Lane junction ).

The plans look identical to those previously “consulted” on at workshop and about which concerns were raised.   The greenspace appears long narrow and unusable by the public.
There also continues to be insufficient provision of public open space at the site for the number of people, and there may be an attempt to utilise further areas of the “wild” common and turn them into football pitches or playgrounds.
